Perhaps o book in this generation has had a more profound impact on our intellectual and spiritual lives than The Road Less Traveled. With sales of more than 7 million copies in the United States and Canada, and translation into more than 23 languages, it has made publishing history, with more than 10 years on The New York Times bestseller list.

Told in a voice that is timeless in its measure of understanding, The Road Less Traveled continues to unable us to explore the nature of loving relationships and leads us toward a new serenity and fullness of life. It help us determine how to distinguish dependency from love; how to become a more sensitive parent; and ultimately how to become one's own true self.

Recognizing that "Life is difficult" and that the journey to spiritual growth is a long one, Dr. Peck never bullies his listeners, but but gently guides them through the hard and often painful process of change toward a higher level of self-understanding.

Combining profound psychological insight and deep spirituality, this is an audiobook that provides inspiration and understanding. As Phyllis Theroux wrote in The Washington Post when the original edition of The Road Less Traveled was first published, "It is not just a book but a spontaneous act of generosity"

What Customers Say About The Road Less Traveled, 25th Anniversary Edition : A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values, and Spritual Growth:

In this phenomenal and instructive guide to a better and more fulfilled of less pain and more spirituality, M Scott Peck takes us through the steps we need to take and the realities we need to internalize in order to lead a happier more pain-free and fulfilled life. Peck go's on to explain how we can only attain full happiness and truth through oneness with G-D. There are essentially four ingredients of this: Delaying gratification, acceptance of responsibility, dedication to the truth, and balancing. He explains love as 'the will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth.

"There really are people and institutions made up of people who respond with hatred in the presence of goodness and would destroy the good as far as it is in their power to do so. He explains how he came to the knowledge that miracle are indeed a part of reality. The author also points out the scientifically proven facts, originally expounded by Karl Jung's theory of collective conscience, that part of our knowledge and wisdom is genetically inherited. They do this not with conscious malice, but blindly lacking awareness of their own evil, indeed seeking to avoid such awareness." I believe this evil today is manifested in terrorism, totalitarian regimes and ideologies and opposition to Judeo-Christian civilization. Finally Peck explores the problem of evil. This book is divided into four sections: 1 Discipline 2 Love 3 Growth and Religion 4 Grace Discipline, the author explains, is the basic set of tools we require to solve life's problems.

"What are we to do-we who are properly sceptical and scientific minded with this 'powerful force', originating outside of human consciousness which nurtures the spiritual growth of human beings". A helpful and deeply analytical work of which it's relevance is demonstrated by it's continued popularity 30 years after it's original publication. Peck explains the will to use these tools as love. Finally the author while acknowledging the harm caused by a very narrow and stringent form of religious observance also warns against the unfortunate and destructive tendency of many psycotherapists to dismiss religion and belief in G-D as a pathology and the Enemy.

It is the best. Explains real cases and their outcome. This is the best book I have ever read. It explains most of the reasons for most of the mental disorders and the way they should be treated.

Scott Peck has helped many people see their problems, their lives with greater clarity and this audio version will continue to do just that. M.

If everyone read this book, and had enough insight to understand Peck's information, the world would be a better place. I read this book for the first time 10 years ago and I just reread it. If you are contemplating this purchase- you should buy the book- it will not disappoint you. Each time I read it, I become focused on being a better person. I will not wait ten years to read it again. The Road Less Traveled is without a doubt one of the best books ever written.

Very unhappy with this purchase. I would not buy again book was old. Pages where yellow and falling out while reading book.
